Beatrice Nicolini is Chair of History and institutions of Africa in the Catholic University, Milan, Italy. She graduated from the Catholic University in Political Science and took her PhD in History of Africa from Siena University, Italy. She focused her research on the history of the Western Indian Ocean, slavery, migration movements, Islam, religion, magic and witchcraft in Africa.
